Allergy: also known as Allergic Disease, which are caused due to hypersensitivity of ones immune system due to something in the environment like dust, lactose, nuts, etc. The disease may include food allergies, allergic asthma, hay fever.

It may be genetic in nature and commonly triggered by airborne allergens.

Many allergens such as dust or pollen are airborne particles. In these cases, symptoms arise in areas in contact with air, such as eyes, nose, and lungs.

Inhaled allergens can also lead to increased production of mucus in the lungs, shortness of breath, coughing, and wheezing.

Skin based Allergy:

Skin allergies frequently cause rashes, or swelling and inflammation within the skin, in what is known as a “wheal and flare” reaction characteristic of hives and angioedema.

Treatment:

Several medications may be used to block the action of allergic mediators, or to prevent activation of cells and degranulation processes. These include antihistamines, (adrenaline), mast cell stabilizers, are common treatments of allergic diseases.
